Changemakers Conference 2025: Challenging the Status Quo

We are proud to have once again partnered with The Marketing Society to bring the Changemakers Conference 2025 to Edinburgh for the second year running. Following the success of last year’s event, the 2025 conference continued to build momentum, inspiring marketers, creatives, and business leaders to think differently, challenge convention, and embrace change.

This year’s theme, Challenge, captured the spirit of what great marketing is all about. The day explored how we can challenge perceptions, challenge behaviours, and challenge the way we define effectiveness in marketing. It was a call to rethink what it means to create campaigns that not only resonate but also drive real impact.
The conference opened with thought-provoking words from Sophie Devonshire, CEO of The Marketing Society, and Ryan Dunlop, Strategy Partner at JACK RYAN. Both set an inspiring tone for the day, inviting attendees to embrace curiosity, creativity, and courage in the face of an ever-evolving industry.

Throughout the day, delegates heard from an incredible lineup of speakers who shared stories, insights, and lessons from across the marketing landscape. Among them was Tony Anderson, easyJet’s first Marketing Director, whose experience helped shape one of the UK’s most iconic travel brands.
Each session built on the idea that challenging the norm is essential for growth, whether that means rethinking brand strategy, redefining audience engagement, or using creativity to cut through a crowded digital world.
At JACK RYAN, we believe great experiences leave a lasting impression, and this year’s conference was no exception. Our electric pink stress brains sparked conversation (and a few laughs) echoing to our Built On Science ethos, while our Chilly’s collaboration water bottles kept attendees refreshed throughout the day.
Guests also had the chance to take part in our SpinTheWheel giveaway, where lucky winners walked away with Apple AirPods. The buzz around our entrance stand mirrored the energy of the day itself; bold, bright, and full of creative spark.
The Changemakers Conference 2025 reminded us why events like these matter. They bring together passionate individuals who believe in better marketing that challenges, connects, and creates change.
