About the Role
We’re looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team at JACK RYAN. You’ll play an essential role in managing our supplier relationships, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining our reputation for operational excellence. Accounts Payable Assistant Key Duties
With excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and a strong grasp of financial processes, the Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for:
Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Matching, batching, and coding invoices in accordance with company policy.
Ensuring all invoices are authorised in line with approval procedures.
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payment runs.
Managing the accounts payable inbox and responding to supplier queries promptly.
Assisting with month-end close by providing accurate accruals and reporting.
Maintaining supplier records and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Supporting the finance team with ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks.
What are we looking for?
1–3 years’ experience in an accounts payable or finance assistant role.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Sage, or similar) and Excel/Google Sheets.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
Understanding of VAT and basic accounting principles is an advantage.
Measures of Success
In three months, you would have:
Fully understood the company’s accounts payable process and finance systems.
Built strong relationships with key suppliers and internal budget holders.
In six months, you would have:
Consistently processed all supplier invoices and payments on schedule.
Maintained accurate, up-to-date records with minimal errors.
In 12 months, you would have:
Played a key role in improving AP processes for efficiency and compliance.
Been recognised as a reliable and valued member of the finance team.
